CQI - Continous Quality Improvement

As a means to achieve our mission, Oceaneering International, Inc utilizes a Management by objectives system. This business process is based upon our Operating Standards, Statement of Philosophies and Beliefs and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) principles.

Our CQI Process:

  • Each year quantitative objectives are established by the Operating Groups with performance and results measured by Sr. Management.
  • Our CQI process is the methodology used to accomplish these objectives efficiently.
  • The core activity is the continuous effort by everyone in the organization to identify, quantify and eliminate waste through process improvement and execution.

The key philosophies of our CQI process include:

  • All waste comes from ineffective work processes; when waste is eliminated value-added work is enhanced.
  • Teams solve problems, teams help people adapt to change and teams are essential to our success.  Working in teams does not replace individual accountability.
  • Accountability is the cornerstone of Oceaneering's culture.
  • Accountability cannot be delegated.

Management will promote and reinforce its commitment to CQI by ensuring:

  • Our approach is understood.
  • Resources are available.
  • Reviews are conducted and feedback is provided.
