Safety Training Observation Program (STOP)

DuPont STOP (Safety Training Observation Program) program is the safety observation program being used by Oceaneering World Wide. Oceaneering AS conducts two STOP Programs that employees are trained in. These are called STOP for Supervision and STOP for Employees.

All new employees are given training in STOP for Employees which goes through the Principles of STOP. Managers and supervisors within Oceaneering are in addition given training in STOP for Supervisors.

The main objective of stop training is to observe employees in their work and then talk with the relevant employee about potential risks related to their work and come up with relevant and corrective actions for the work being carried out. Both positive feedbacks and improvements related to the actual work being carried out is discussed with the employee. This yields both recognition and efficiency to a safer working environment to onshore and offshore personnel.
