During this year's ONS there will be a 90 m2 Space
& Energy park in Hall M. This will be the place for innovative
companies to present themselves in a new and exiting context. The
Think Outside The Planet exhibition will be designed to inform and
inspire the 40 000 + visitors to see the parallels between Space
and Energy challenges and technologies.
The conference will be held during the ONS week on Wednesday 25.08 and will have a special focus on technology transfer between Space & Energy.
Norwegian Space Centre is leading the program committee for this
happening. Keywords for the conference are:
• Good examples on technology transfer between space and
energy.
• How can the energy- and space sector learn from each
other?
• Space applications for the energy industry.
• Common technology challenges

The Think Outside The Planet magazine will be the medium for
presenting our sponsoring partners in a Space & Energy context
together with examples on tech transfer. In the magazine you will
also find cases on how to do tech transfer together with other
material for information and education. It will be edited by Eirik
Newth and will be available under and after ONS 2010.
Statoil and the Norwegian Space Centre have the latest years collaborated on finding opportunities and synergies between the space and energy industry. In June 2009 they together with Arena IO arranged the first Space and Energy conference in Stavanger with 70 companies and invited speakers from ESA and JPL/NASA.
The vision of this work is to generate new businesses,
new workplaces and new technologies for the benefit of the industry
and the society.
Overall objectives for the S&E
project:
The Space and Energy conference in Stavanger is planned to be an
annual happening to strengthen the network, inform industry and
public, and inspire youth (or all those young at heart).
In 2010 we will arrange the Space and Energy meeting place in the
world known ONS conference.
