The Actuator is Spring Fail Safe to open, thus bringing the valve to an open position in case of any failure in the system.
All critical systems are dual redundant; Motor, Power, Communication, springs etc. Full end-to end travel of Actuator and Valve is performed in less than two seconds. The actuator is Subsea retrievable by use of ROV and simple tooling with a special designed ROV operated Linear stem connection.

The valve stem area is protected, flushed and oil filled by use of a Hot Stab System.
The Actuator has built in patented electromechanical clutch systems connecting and disconnecting valve stem, actuator and spring package. This makes is possible to test the valve without operating the actuator. Also, the spring fail safe does not require any internal parts to be operated, other than the output shaft of the Actuator.

The Actuator accuracy is better than +/- 0,15mm.

The Mokveld Axial Flow Subsea Control provides reliability through proven design and fast stroking capability. It is compact and light weight design providing the ideal package.

The Actuator is currently in Production/ Assembly, and are scheduled to be qualified for the Ormen Lange Subsea Gas Compression Pilot in 2008/2009.
