Used in connection with the Subsea Power Bank, an all electrical Actuator and Fail Safe System is achieved with local stored energy, thus allowing for designing the electrical distribution system for trickle charging rather than peak loads from ESD or PSD. Such system results in high MTBF and Availability numbers due to the ability for self testing and conditional monitoring.
The Actuator is normally equipped with two wetmateable electrical connectors for easy installation and connection by use of standard ROV systems.
Actuator and control system design allows for flexibility with regards to Power and Communication Protocol.
The Actuator is equipped with the Oceaneering Subsea All Electric modified ISO Class 4 Interface bucket special designed for use with replaceable actuators. This design allows for override of the valve by use of a common Class 4 ROV Operated Torque Tool. By operating a clutch on the actuator hosing, the Actuator output key is released allowing for easy installation or removal of the actuator regardless of valve/actuator position and possible misalignment.
